Same Same But Different Salon was launched in Windsor, Victoria, by Tom White in May 2021.  While our team is here to create fabulous hair for our guests, it's fair to say we are more than just a hair salon!  Let us take you through who we are and why we are here. As we said, we aren’t just a salon... we are a movement. We will always advocate and practice equality, diversity, and sustainability! Everything we do, every decision we make, as a collective, is to better the world and our community.

The whole team has contributed to the makeup of the salon and what we stand for. All of our values and beliefs align, which you can see in our brand pillars of Honesty, Community, Diversity and Creativity. These are the foundation this company is built on and what the company will always advocate. 

The crew here are ALSO accomplished hairdressers who will always strive to make you feel comfortable, included and, of course, create a wonderful hair cut, style or colour for you.  We work with the best hair products that are high-performing, botanical, free from any nasties, and cruelty-free.  If you want organic or vegan products, just talk to us so we can make absolutely sure we can meet your needs.  

At Same Same But Different, we also believe it is important to acknowledge our traditional landowners, The Bunurong Boon Wurrung and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Eastern Kulin Nation, and we pay respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging.


 We have created a judgement-free space where we celebrate what makes you uniquely you. We will always deliver the same level of expertise and care in every service, for everybody, at all times.  Please let us know when booking whether you would like to be addressed by a certain pronoun.

At Same Same But Different we also want to do our part in eliminating the 'Pink Tax'. Females have always been charged more for the same time and service which we find a ridiculous concept. We also believe that people should not be made to choose from a gender rigid price list if they don't identify as he/him or she/her. This means everyone gets charged the same for a haircut because we believe in charging for time, not charging based on your gender.    View our prices here


Over 90% of everything we use in the salon is recycled or a recycled material.  Salon Waste Systems recycles or correctly disposes of all our waste including foil, colour tubes, and chemicals.  Our salon partners, evo, Davines and Maria Nila also align with our values, using sustainable packaging, with reforestation programs, and absolutely no product testing on animals. 

Evo Hue-Verse hair colour has been formulated with no nasties. They use the highest quality, botanical ingredients from Italy, which ensures safety for our guests but also allows us to have the best performing colour available that the industry offers worldwide. A stunning product that transforms your hair and scalp at a very reasonable price. 


We request you give us 48 hours notice. A cancellation fee will apply, at management's discretion, if the appointment is cancelled within 48 hours. We ask for 48hrs so we have time to fill that appointment with another guest. 50% of the total cost of the service will be charged if cancelled between 24hrs-48hrs. Within 24hrs or a NO SHOW will incur 100% of the cost of service.

If you are running late, please call us and let us know ahead of time. We will always do our best to accommodate you and deliver your complete service, but we are under time constraints and every minute counts to make sure we can deliver you an experience. We will always endeavour to call you if we are running late.
